We've finally had the chance to put one of In Win's latest chassis, the 805, through its paces in our lab and it seems the company has been up to its tricks again of creating a stunning-looking case. The 805 is now just one in a long line of suprisingly premium, well-designed cases that we've seen from the company over the last few years and as the likes of the 901 and 904 suggest, the 805 also sports tempered glass side panels and aluminium construction.



Unlike the 900-series though, the 805 is more of a traditional tower case with a standard internal layout. It's certainly a pretty case, with an attractive hexagonal design behind the front glass panel and, thanks to the addition of some LED fans or light strips, this can be illuminated and looks fantastic. There's an In Win logo on the side of the internal chassis too and this is illuminated out of the box - thankfully, it's fairly tasteful but you can unplug the lights if you disagree, though the logo is still cut into the chassis.


The two side panels use the familiar In Win thumb screws - one in each corner that bolt the panels onto the case. This is plenty sturdy enough and just as well as the panels are several times heavier than your average steel side panel. The I/O panel is situated up top on the front of case and includes two USB 2 ports, a USB 3 port and USB 3.1 Type-C reversible port too - one of the first cases to do so.


The underside reveals a large dust filter, although this isn't for the PSU, which is mounted facing upwards. The large vent at first appears to be there just to boost airflow, especially in negative air pressure setups, but there are actually two 120mm fan mounts here too. The rest of the case is fairly standard, with a large brushed aluminium roof, eight PCI expansion slots and relatively compact dimensions with a height of 48cm and depth of 46cm. While the case itself only comes in black, there are options for red or yellow front panel versions with corresponding lighting, although we could only find the standard black/white light or red/red light options in the UK at time of writing.
